| CONIL DE LA FRONTERA
Conil is a lovely seaside town which combines small village charm
with amazing Californian-style beaches which stretch for miles
and are so wide that it can be exercise enough just to get to
the sea from your Hotel in Conil
La Fontinilla is the beach nearest town, with plenty of parking
spaces, beach bars and restaurants alongside and the town a five-minute
walk away. Fuente de Gallo is a beautiful, tranquil extension
of Conil to the north with detached villas in leafy private gardens
and a stunning beach backed by red cliffs. Prices in this area
are relatively high as it is a prized destination among foreign
villa owners seeking a beachside tranquillity, so expect to pay
upwards of 350,000 euros for a villa.
The beach facilities are good in central Conil – plenty
of parking spaces by the sand, activities, bars and restaurants,
and the town itself just a few minutes walk away. Though Conil
has expanded considerably beyond its old core, and has all the
tourist trappings you would expect from a resort, the heart of
the town is still very Andalucian, with narrow streets, tapas
bars and an open air market at weekends. Conil is also well known
for its seafood restaurants, especially those serving deep fried
sea anemones.
Property in Conil is among the more expensive on this stretch
of coast, especially anything close to the beach. Roche is an
exclusive beachside area between Conil and Chiclana and near Novo
Sancti Petri golf, where villas can cost up to 1.5 million euros.
However, look in El Colorado, about 15 minutes drive from the
beach, and you can find villas from around 250,000 euros.
